A treehopper (Membracidae) at my porch light waves hello. (Iowa)
Water Strider (Gerridae) from Iowa. These predatory insects are adapted to hunting on the water's surface thanks to fine hydrophobic (water-repelling) hairs on their legs. These incredibly dense clusters of hairs, called "hairpiles," allow them to distribute their weight without breaking the surface tension of still or slow-moving bodies of water.
Plant bug (Miridae, probably Helopeltis theivora) with exceptionally long antennae from Chiang Mai, Thailand.
