    Woolly aphid (Eriosomatinae - possibly Eriosoma sp., from Iowa) on my finger. When flying, these strange little insects look much like fuzzy seed pods floating on the wind.
    Acanaloniid planthopper nymph (Acanalonia sp.) from Iowa. These funky little creatures extrude strands of wax that act as a deterrent to predators and provide camouflage.
